Astronomy for H.S.

Location: Auburn Alliance Church805 Old Brick Road, Auburn, IN

Grade Level: 8th – 12th grades

Ages: 13 – 18

Classes Meet: Tuesdays

Semester 1: Tuesday, September 13th – November 29th, 2022 

Semester 2: Tuesday, January 10th – March 28th, 2023.

(December 6th and April 4th will be make-up days if needed.)

Tuition / Fees: $300.00 tuition ($150.00 per semester).  An enrollment fee of $50 is due within 2 weeks of registration for the first semester and another $50 deposit will be due for the second semester by 11/7/22. Both will come off of your tuition for each semester. The enrollment fees are non-refundable and will hold your place in the class.

This is FULL year-long class. 

Course Description

In this course your student will explore our universe and discover incredible details about our created cosmos, including the moon, the planets, the stars. and the galaxies beyond. We will discover how to observe the moon and stars as they appear in the night sky. Our curriculum comes from Master Books and includes, The Stargazer’s Guide to the Night Sky, by Dr. Jason Lisle and Our Created Moon by DeYoung & Whitcomb, which students will need to acquire. Students will have weekly readings and homework assignments. They should expect to spend 40-60 minutes per week outside of class. 

This is a year-long class. The class is worth 2 credits of Astronomy/Science on a high school transcript.
