Students will be learning skills including key word outlining, sentence structure, creating topic sentences, clinchers, titles, avoiding overused words and adding interest to compositions through the use of dress-ups. They will be writing research reports, narratives, critiques and personal essays. Dress-ups include; quality adjectives, strong verbs and adverbs. There will also be vocabulary activities and quizzes along with the lessons. This book is great for both beginner writers and students who have experience but are ready to advance their technique and skills.
Each student will need their own copy of World History – Based Writing Lessons. This can be purchased directly from IEW or at the resource expo in May.
This is a year-long class with each semester being 12 weeks. You only need to register once, and payments can now be made at the beginning of the year for both semesters or at the beginning of each semester. Min. 5/ Max 11
A $20 enrollment fee, along with the supply fee, are due upon registration. These are non-refundable, however, the enrollment fee comes directly off the tuition.
