Course Descriptions:

In this one semester course we will be studying many aspects of how to study and discuss stories. Style, context, setting, characters, conflict, plot, themes and using Socratic questions will all be explored. These skills will be applied to a variety of works including books, plays, movies and poetry. This is a fun interactive class.  Your student will choose one full length book at the start of the semester to read for a book critique. Most of the other things we’ll be reading are excerpts and are provided in the student book.  The text book used is Teaching the Classics  2nd Edition, from Institute for Excellence in Writing.

If your child has special needs, please contact the teacher directly.
