This is a year long class worth two fine art credits.

Course Description:

Drawing skills are the basis for all art forms and this class will incrementally develop skills and techniques from creative use of line, recognizing and rendering shape, form, dimension, and shadows. It won’t just be the fundamentals. We’ll also explore techniques that take the basics and dive into using the skills in creative and unique ways. There will be sketchbook work to do on a regular basis that will greatly aid in the furtherance of all that’s being learned.  This class will mostly be using a variety of dry media such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, ballpoint pen, and drawing pens but there will also be some wet media such as water soluble graphite, watercolor pencils and water soluble crayons.

All supplies are included other than a specific sketchbook.

There will be a field trip scheduled for any who’d like to participate!

No matter the skill level of the student now, understanding and practicing these concepts can improve their satisfaction with their work. Creativity is a gift of God, and as with anything else, knowledge and practice can help that gift flourish. Students will receive a drawing kit along with the class.
