Course Description:
Class will involve learning about various types of paint and techniques to use them with skill. Specifically, we’ll be playing with watercolor, watercolor pencil, gouache, pastel and acrylic. There will be some ink and colored pencil work in some of the projects as well. Another aspect of the class is color theory. This class will count as a high school fine arts credit. There should be a total of 24 completed paintings by the end of the year! There will be a field trip scheduled for any who’d like to participate!
No matter the skill level of the student now, understanding and practicing these concepts can improve their satisfaction with their work. Creativity is a gift of God, and as with anything else, knowledge and practice can help that gift flourish. All materials are provided.
