Course Description:

We will be using Material that I have created as I have taught in the school system as well as tutored many children preparing for the ACT and SAT tests. This material covers all the objective that the State requires for Algebra 2 and that I have found helpful in preparing them for subsequent Math courses. I incorporate the teaching style set up in Saxon and Teaching Textbooks which is a spiral learning method. We will meet for 14 weeks each semester, having our class time spent going over questions from homework and covering 3-4 lessons per week. I also send video lessons via email each week so that if students forget how to do a concept they can watch the video to refresh their memory.   Both  the videos and tutoring are optional for the student to take advantage of, but I would highly recommend. Each week students will be taking a take home quiz (without notes or book ) to be brought back Monday for me to grade. All homework will be graded by students.  ( I email answer keys each week for them to check), and missed problems should be re-corrected by the next class meeting. At the end of each semester the students will be taking a cumulative test. I also will have students keep a Math binder. I have found this to be an invaluable tool for students. It keeps their material in order and as well as teaching Math. I hope to help them learn organizational skills that are so important in life. I look forward to meeting and teaching your student.

*I will be offering tutoring on Thursdays at Epiphany from 9-11am this year.  Please schedule your other classes around this time on Thursdays if your student needs additional help.  This is included in the cost of the class.

I provide the material except a binder, writing utensils and a calculator.
